English Here, Now

We want to sincerely thank all of our panelists, speakers, and organizers who contributed to this conference. Its success and its organization would not have been possible without the help and contribution of all participants. With a full heart of gratitude, from the organizers of this conference, we thank you heartily.

We also wanted to acknowledge that is our privilege to live and work on the traditional territories of the Niitistapi (Blackfoot) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, including the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut'ina, the Iyarhe Nakoda, and the Metis Nation. We -- the organizing team for "English Here, Now" -- are settler scholars, bound by Treaty 7, and as members of a department of English, we try to work toward a decolonized, anti-racist, inclusive discipline, and we acknowledge the traditional complicity of our discipline in colonization, racism, sexism, and class snobbery.
